Reporting to the Director of Major Gifts, Corporate and Community, the Stewardship, Development and Communication Officer crafts inspiring, donor-centric communications. Working with the Development Team, this role supports optimal information related to donor solicitation tools, maintaining records and metrics on donor contributions.

YOUR ROLE
- Develops and implements comprehensive, individual plans for identifying, assessing, qualifying, cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding gifts from individuals, corporations and industry partners to meet gift objectives, including the development and implementation of new donor onboarding.
- Performs data mining of information, ensuring sharing of same to Development team. • Develops and implements engaging donor solicitation tools and communications to support the stewardship journey, relationship building and development efforts.
- Develops innovative, digital-first, organization-wide communications to inspire donor revenue, with a particular emphasis on compelling storytelling, while maintaining brand standards.
- Initiates regular and ongoing contact with management team (organization-wide) to ensure stewardship in donor cultivation and solicitation.
- Serves as key Development team liaison with Events Coordinator regarding donor stewardship and donor onboarding though signature events.
- Promotes the values of the organization within the workplace and in the community by demonstrating positive and professional relationships with other agency staff, families, volunteers, advocates, and employers.
- Reports all unsafe conditions, hazards or practices, accidents and incidents in accordance with Occupational Health and Safety Act and adheres to all Health and Safety requirements within DeafBlind Ontario Services’ policies and procedures and provincial legislation.
- Performs other duties as required.
Requirements
Education & Experience:
- College diploma in communications, business administration, fundraising or related field.
- CFRE designation or working towards.
- Minimum 1 to 3 years’ experience in fundraising roles or similar capacity in the not-for-profit sector.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Excellent verbal, written, and visual communication skills with the ability to present ideas and concepts succinctly, with clarity, and visually appealing in both English and French.
- Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple and competing priorities within established timelines.
- Ability to work effectively within a team and independently.
- Entrepreneurial spirit.
- High proficiency with Donor Perfect or other similar fundraising software, as well as Microsoft Office products (Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, Excel, Project, ), and willingness to learn other software programs as required.
