We are seeking an energetic, motivated, and community-minded professional to lead fundraising efforts on behalf of the
Niagara Foundation for Family and Children’s Services (FACS). Reporting to the Director of Communications & Community
Engagement, the successful candidate will work directly with a variety of community leaders and organizations to build
mutually beneficial relationships and secure charitable contributions. This role will play an integral role in developing and
executing donor-centered fundraising programs to educate, support, recognize, and grow our donor base. The Senior
Manager of Donor Relations will have the opportunity to apply creative and critical thinking skills on a wide range of
projects, events, and advancement efforts to advance the mission of the Foundation and support families, children, and
youth in Niagara. The ideal candidate will work to further Foundation fundraising goals and objectives while ensuring
alignment with FACS Niagara community outreach and communications initiatives. To be successful in this role, you will

Fund Development
• Plan, develop, and implement fund development programs, including donor-centered and customized strategies
for acquiring, cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding donors
• Build trusting relationships with key stakeholders and secure philanthropic commitments from a diverse
community of organizational and individual donors
• Execute fundraising initiatives and activities and projects including proposals for major gifts and corporate
foundations, grant applications, direct mail, special events, service club, corporation and foundation solicitation,
charitable donations, memorial and planned giving
• Develop projects and programs appropriate for private and corporate funding, providing strategy and creative
thinking for new initiatives
• Lead execution of annual fundraising campaigns, including Gift of Hope and Mountainview LemonAID Day
• Synthesize trends, opportunities and information, conduct research on community needs to inform impactful
philanthropic opportunities
• Evaluate the effectiveness of fund development efforts to ensure continuous improvement
• Maintain necessary systems and files to support the FACS Foundation
• Oversee prospect identification and research and builds prospect files
• Manage donor engagement through creation and implementation of multiple touchpoints, including donor
events, personalized thanks, and opportunities for donor recognition
• Oversee the production of effective fund development materials
• Draft grant and solicitation correspondence and proposals/applications
• Oversee electronic collection system and acknowledgement procedures
• Collect information for donor reports
• Ensure proper licensing, policy, procedures, reporting, receipting, and recognition is carried out
• Ensure compliance with fundraising best practices including all ethical guidelines and principles outlined by the
Canada Revenue Agency, Association of Fundraising Professionals and Canadian Centre for Philanthropy

Leadership & Management
• Provide leadership to Foundation work groups and committees
• Participate in the development and implementation of the FACS Niagara Foundation strategic plan
• Prepare policy drafts and reports for the Foundation Board
• Provide advice on issues and challenges to FACS Niagara Foundation Board
• Collaborate with FACS Niagara leaders to identify priority needs and develop plans for resourcing
• Promote collaboration of activities between FACS Niagara Foundation and FACS Niagara
• Demonstrate behaviours, actions, and attitudes consistent with the mission, vision, and values of both the FACS
Foundation and FACS Niagara
• Represents the FACS Niagara Foundation in conferences, meetings, and committees
• Collaborate with stakeholders in the implementation of FACS Niagara Foundation plans and programs
• Collect and analyze donor feedback for continuous improvement
• Manage administration, stewardship, and implementation of fund agreements, including the coordination and
accuracy of all agreements and documentation, and seeking ways make processes more donor friendly, and
monitoring and updating documents as needed to reflect current laws and policies.
Marketing and Communications
• In collaboration with the Director of Communications, develop, execute, and monitor an integrated marketing
and communications plan to support Foundation goals
• Actively participate in public speaking and community functions to strategically grow public awareness and
public engagement
• Fulfill day-to-day public relations and media needs on behalf of the FACS Foundation
• Leverage technology including website, social media, and other online resources
• Ensure a consistent image by consulting with the Director of Communications on the production of
communication materials (i.e. newsletters, brochures, pamphlets, flyers)
• Respond to media inquiries
• Evaluate the effectiveness of programs for continuous improvement
• Develop and oversee the preparation, design and execution of print, social media, audiovisual and
marketing/promotional materials of the FACS Foundation
Volunteer Engagement
• Develop the fundraising volunteer base to support Foundation events and initiatives
• Support the FACS Niagara Foundation Board for strategic recruitment and succession of Board members
• Work with the volunteer department to engage volunteers to grow fundraising effectiveness
• Delegates effectively to maximize volunteer resources
• Provide training to Board and other Foundation volunteers as needed
Other Related Activities
• Identify budget requirements and manages FACS Niagara Foundation budget in accordance with needs and
strategic directions of the Foundation
• Ensures own and FACS Niagara Foundation expenditures adhere to policies
• Articulates and constantly monitors the efficiency and effectiveness of fundraising activities to ensure the
highest level of service is being provided
• Reviews, assesses and/or has input into policy and programs that best meet the needs of the FACS Niagara
Foundation
• Produce standard monthly, quarterly, and annual reports as needed by the FACS Niagara Foundation Board
including giving trends and analysis of amounts of donors, new donors, lapsed donors, average gift size,
consecutive years of giving, etc.
• Meet or exceed all accountabilities and achieve continuous quality improvement and excellence in all activities
and outcomes
• Participate in ongoing learning to maximize skills and be aware of current trends
• Works in compliance with the provisions of the Occupational Health and Safety Act of Ontario
• Performs other duties as required
• Bachelors Degree in Business, Marketing, Behavioural Sciences or related discipline; Certified Fund Raising
Executive (CFRE) designation is an asset.
• Minimum 5 years related experience in progressively responsible fundraising, public relations and
communications positions with media experience and experience working with volunteer boards and 1 year in a
similar role
• Demonstrated experience in requesting and securing general and major gifts, experience in gift planning,
prospect management and research and donor relations
• Solid knowledge of Board/governance policy and procedures
• Excellent knowledge of fund development methods and techniques
• Advanced communications and public speaking skills
• Excellent knowledge and experience of planning and running fundraising campaigns
• Excellent knowledge of legislation governing charities
• Knowledge of CAS programs and services, business strategies, goals, priorities and programs, and related
objectives and plans is an asset
