With the demonstrated commitment to the values of availability, responsibility, adaptability, quality and dignity, the Senior Development Officer is responsible for identifying, cultivating and soliciting donors for capital funding projects. The ideal candidate for this position will be a dedicated and energetic individual who welcomes challenges, is able to react quickly to situations; in addition to working well with donors at all giving levels with the utmost professionalism.
The successful candidate will work as a member of a dynamic team of individuals to assist us in making a difference in the lives of the people in our community. Requirements include five years’ fundraising experience and a demonstrated track record in individual gift programs, donor relations, creativity and marketing. Reporting to the Chief Development Officer, this individual will build on current successes through retention and growth of existing donors and through the acquisition of new donors.
Managing a portfolio of major gift prospects through the donor cycle and utilizing the principles of relationships management, the individual will personally conduct a pre-determined number of one-to-one visits with prospects on a yearly basis in order to secure donors and funds, developing and implementing cultivation, solicitation and stewardship strategies, as well as providing the strategic planning and support within the Development Team.
The ideal candidate is detail oriented, organized and has excellent computer skills and a working knowledge of software such as: Raisers’ Edge, Excel, Word, and Outlook. The ability to speak French and/or other languages in addition to English is a definite asset.
