Under the direction of the Executive Director of CADDAC, the successful applicant will be responsible for developing strategies and executing plans to achieve CADDAC’s development goals. The successful applicant will actively engage community partners, sponsors, prospects and donors at all levels, leveraging key relationships to achieve fundraising goals, while promoting and enhancing the public image of the organization

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Establish short- and long-range goals for funding sources and enlist support in implementation from the Executive Director, Board Directors, and staff
  • Set targets, manage, and execute multi-year and individual donor campaigns (e.g., annual appeal, major gifts)
  • Set targets, manage, and execute an annual support strategy from institutional donors and public and private grant sources (agencies, corporations, and foundations)
  • Design, implement and manage annual giving campaign from start to finish, as well as a Stewardship Program and other donor programs
  • Develop, implement, and maintain a cutting-edge donor recognition program that cultivates loyalty and growth from all philanthropic sources, along with the development of a prospect identification strategy
  • Supervise and coordinate fund and resource development and community relations materials, particularly the creation of various communications such as brochures, the annual report, Case for Support, general boilerplate presentations, corporate partnership relations, and correspondence
  • Supervise and coordinate the maintenance of digital and paper records of prospects, donors, partners, foundations and grant contributors
  • Provide mentorship to team members, and ensure program development and success
  • Develop a strategic plan and budget for the portfolio (Fund & Resource Development, Communication & Events, Volunteers, Education) and report progress and milestones
  • Coordinate with bookkeeping and accounting, to ensure effective strategies for recording and reporting of funds received
  • Work closely with the Executive Director and the Board sub-committees of CADDAC to set strategic and organizational goals
  • Complete other duties as assigned

KEY QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Post secondary education in a related field
  • Minimum Five (5) years fundraising experience
  • Knowledge and experience in prospect development, donor appeals, donor relations and recognition, setting revenue and expense budgets, and communications/promotional activities
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills, verbal communication and listening skills; detail oriented, strong organizational, research and analytical skills
  • Knowledge of Canadian charity and donation laws and CRA regulations
  • Demonstrated accuracy in data entry, records management, and reporting
  • Self-motivated, high energy, results oriented with the drive to exceed expectations
  • Demonstrated ability to work in team environment and communicate effectively with a variety of departments
  • Demonstrated leadership skills, initiative, tact, diplomacy, integrity, and creativity
  • Demonstrated successful personnel management and mentoring a team
  • Experience or training in project-management with ability to work under pressure, manage multiple projects (multitask) and respond promptly to a variety of requests in a high-paced and reactive environment
  • Experience working with volunteers, committees, and boards
  • Demonstrated written communication skills
  • Ability to maintain professional composure and a positive attitude
  • Knowledge of fundraising software and databases (particularly, DonorPerfect, Grant Connect)
  • Familiarity with financial statements, and generally accepted accounting principles
  • Proficient computer skills needed (especially MS Office and other relevant current business software programs)
