The Fund Development Coordinator, Corporate Giving is responsible for developing and leading the affiliate’s corporate relations efforts, for retaining donors, soliciting and securing year-over-year increases in funding. Corporate partnerships include cash donations, team build days, sponsorships, employee giving, gift in kind (outside of build), grants and mission support. The position’s secondary responsibility is to identify and cultivate corporate foundation grant opportunities.

WHAT YOU’LL DO
Corporate Partnerships
- Lead comprehensive corporate relations efforts aiming for year-over-year growth
- Develop corporate outreach and engagement strategies, build a portfolio of prospects, prepare written materials and requests
- Cultivate, retain and grow existing corporate partners to achieve financial goals by delivering high level donor centric communications and stewardship
- Manage planning and logistics for cultivation and recognition programs and events to deepen relationships with current corporate partners and prospects
- Write competitive and renewal sponsorship requests, prepare submission packages, ensure compliance with funder regulations and deadlines
- Provide leads for corporate grant opportunities and support grant writing as needed with applications and reports
- Communicate with staff engaged with Corporate Partners across the affiliate, including prospect clearance, cultivation and solicitation of GIK – Events and GIK – Builds
- Communicate with managers across the affiliate as well as with administrators at other agencies, as needed
- Provide recognition and impact reports to corporate partners in a timely manner.
- Contribute to the content of the website, newsletters, annual reports, social media and other corporate marketing efforts
- Promote programs and services through strategic outreach to corporate partners and employees
- Work closely with Habitat Heartland, partners, sponsors, and other organizations on special projects and builds
Team Builds and Employee Giving Programs
- Manage team build program and process by ensuring timely and motivating communication with corporate contacts and consistent conversion efforts
- Oversee team build process from point of inquiry and scheduling to build day visit, post build day follow up and retention
- Coach team members as necessary to ensure team build experience is rewarding with the goal of securing additional team build days and sponsorships
- Design and manage Employee Giving opportunities, outside of Team Build program.
- Analyze process and systems to improve as necessary
Department Leadership
- Actively participate in the long-term success of the affiliate through the development team
- Acquire and maintain sound knowledge of the affiliate in order to accurately and creatively represent the affiliate in meetings, presentations, proposals, etc.
- Work with the GM, Philanthropy to establish annual and long-term fundraising goals and benchmarks for corporate engagement
- Maintain complete and accurate records in CRM system to help facilitate institutional memory
- Champion teamwork, record/data maintenance and creative problem solving
- Assist and support shared service agreements with other Habitat affiliates
Outreach
- Attend community events on behalf of Habitat for Humanity Heartland Ontario
- Present to corporations, employee groups, community organizations
- When appropriate, post outreach activity to social media accounts
Other
- Work collaboratively with all members of the Heartland staff
- Participate in prospect clearance and encourage thoughtful cultivation strategies
- Communicate needs of all partners fully to appropriate staff
- Complete interim and final reports required by partners
- Complete accurate MOUs for partners
- Keep accurate and detailed records in database
- Assist with events and tickets sales
YOUR REQUIREMENTS
- A minimum of 5 years professional fund development experience
- Demonstrated skill in fund development, solicitation of corporate gifts and stewardship
- Ability to engage groups with strong public speaking and communication skills
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team
- Self-starter with a strong commitment to goal setting and achievement
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Proficient in use of fund development software and Microsoft Office
- Valid driver’s license
