Currently we seek an experienced fundraising professional to lead our comprehensive development program inclusive of individual, foundation and corporate support as the Director of Development. The Director of Development provides leadership to a dynamic fundraising team, actively works with donors, and develops and implements fundraising strategies that align donor interest with hospital priorities in patient care, education and research. With a commitment to St. Joseph’s promise to a fulfilling donor experience, the Director of Development also leads the Foundation’s donor relations program.

Essential Qualifications
- University degree in related discipline
- Certified Fund-Raising Executive (CFRE) designation
- A minimum of five to seven years professional fundraising experience, preferably in a medical/research environment with demonstrated achievement in securing legacy, major and principal-level gifts of $100,000+
- A minimum of three to five years of experience leading a team of fund development professionals with a demonstrated achievement of goals and metrics
- Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills
- Proven leadership skills with the ability to communicate effectively, motivate and coach team members, handle and delegate responsibilities, listen to feedback and solve problems
- Ability to use data and other management tools to effectively measure fundraising activity and team performance, and provide guidance and support as needed
- Ability to listen to others and communicate honestly, responsibly and professionally: verbally, written, and electronically
- Demonstrated track record in developing, communicating, implementing and adapting strategy in a constantly changing environment
- Exceptional organizational and time management skills, attention to detail, accuracy and professionalism
- Optimistic and results-oriented with the ability to achieve identified metrics to contribute positively and effectively to the organization’s goals and objectives
- Demonstrates high levels of integrity, sound judgement and discretion
- Commitment to the AFP Code of Ethical Standards and AHP Statement of Professional Standards and Conduct
- Working knowledge of Microsoft suite of programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), must be comfortable learning and using new technology
- Knowledge of a Safety Culture in a Health Care Setting in compliance with the OHSA
- Ability and commitment to act as a supervisor under OHSA
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in the management of estate gifts
- Experience in capital campaigns
Teaching and Research
- St. Joseph’s Health Care London through its affiliation with Western University and Fanshawe College is a leading research and teaching hospital. As an employee of St. Joseph’s you will be expected to engage in role related teaching and research activities in addition to any of your clinical duties
Immunization Requirements
- Provide documentation you have received two doses of the Covid-19 vaccine and a written commitment to follow any future Public Health recommendations and St. Joseph’s Health Care London policies and processes related to COVID management in the workplace.
- Provide vaccination records or proof of immunity against measles, mumps, rubella and varicella (chicken pox).
- Provide documentation of the Tuberculosis skin testing.
