Event Directors and Owners, Our Forté

National Philanthropy Day Logistics Sponsor

1. Let's say we met at a cocktail party. How would you describe, in a nutshell, what you do?

Our Forté Events is a boutique event management firm. We partner with charities, non-profits and philanthropic corporations to create and execute fundraising events and programs. Working with Our Forte Events allows our clients to maximize funds raised for their cause, save time and be more strategic in their fundraising solutions and approaches; stepping outside the box and enjoying the work they do and the value they bring to the communities they support.

2. What led you to sponsor National Philanthropy Day?

We have been AFP Golden Horseshoe members for a couple years and attended the event last year. It is a remarkable event honouring the amazing work people and organizations are doing right here in our community. To have a room filled with fundraisers, volunteers and community members who believe in philanthropy and share the same values as us, is something we are proud to support.

3. What inspires you day to day and why do you work with non-profits?

Our clients inspire us because of the amazing work they do every single day! The organizations we work with do so much for the people in our community, our country and around the world. They are changing lives and making a significant impact and we have seen this first hand. It is this impact that drives us each day and makes the work we do so important.

4. What is one tip you have for event planners in our industry?

Be organized and surround yourself with good suppliers - they will help make you look good!

5. What is the best career advice you've ever received?

Take risks. Some will work and others won't, but don't be afraid to try - this is howOur Forté Events started.

6. Describe your favourite and most inspiring National Philanthropy Day moment.

Our favourite part of National Philanthropy Day is when the "Outstanding Youth in Philanthropy" award is given. These people are young and have already done so much for others. Their drive and mindset is remarkable and something that all of us should learn from.
