Director, External Relations
Full Time Administration
The Director leads the External Relations team in promoting Nipissing University as the university of choice for learners committed to enriching communities in meaningful ways. The Director will oversee enhancement of the university’s reputation and profile resulting in strong recruitment and growth supported by increased government funding, corporate and individual philanthropy, and superior relationships with stakeholders. The Director will plan, coordinate and implement strategies and programs in the areas of advancement (fundraising and friendraising), marketing, communications, external relations, government relations, and alumni relations that support the University’s strategic plan. As an advocate and ambassador for the university, she/he will build support through engagement with Nipissing’s many internal and external stakeholder communities, ensuring that all efforts and initiatives are aligned with the university’s mission, vision, goals and strategic plan. Key roles include planning, management, accountability and protection of confidentiality. The Director will also be expected to build on the significant opportunities created by the recent Fundraising Campaign, securing funds from diverse sources.
An undergraduate degree (BA, BComm, BSc, or related degree) and a Graduate degree (MBA, MA, MSc or MEd), as well as five to seven years of fundraising, sales or business development experience in a non-profit, financial or service sector is required.
