Barbara Fanning, MLS, MBA
Barbara has managed donor research and business intelligence activities for the not-for-proft sector for 25 years. She was named Director of Advancement Services at the Art Gallery of Ontario in 2017. A previous Director of Research Services at The SickKids Foundation, Barbara had the opportunity to direct the donor researchg activities in support of two $500M+ campaigns at the University of Toronto and the University Health Network. A professional librarian, Barbara was the first Canadian researcher to be elected to the board of the US-based Association of Professional Researchers for Advancement (APRA), where she served six terms. She chaired the 2004 APRA International Conference and is a founding member of the APRA Canada Chapter, a vital peer network. In 2007, Barbara was honoured to receive the APRA Distinguished Service Award. She is a frequent speaker on donor research issues in Canada and the US. Barbara obtained her MBA from the Richard Ivey School of Business in 2014.
Tracey Church, MLIS
Tracey has been a professional researcher for over 20 years and is the Past President of APRA-Canada. She has recently joined the AFP International Research Council. She is a Researcher and Consultant (www.traceychurchresearch.com) and has worked with over 300 charities across Canada. Tracey teaches "Prospect Research in Fundraising" at Western University in the MLIS program. She has her MLIS and her Professional Certificate in Not-for-Proft Management from Western University. She is a requested presenter and loves to see her students and trainees succeed in the exciting field of prospect research.
