2018 National Philanthropy Day Awards Nominations



2018 National Philanthropy Day Award Nominations are now closed. Thanks to all who submitted applications. We look forward to sharing the news with you in September about who will be honoured at this year's NPD Celebration, November 15, 2018 at LIUNA Station in Hamilton.

Outstanding Philanthropist

This award is presented to an individual or family who has demonstrated outstanding civic and philanthropic leadership, and has a proven record of exceptional generosity and financial support. Award recipients will have encouraged and motivated others to take similar leadership roles toward philanthropy at the local, national and international levels. 

Outstanding Youth in Philanthropy

Presented in recognition of outstanding volunteerism and leadership by children and youth aged 5 to 23 years, this award has been designed to honour the coming generation of volunteers, donors, and professionals in the voluntary sector who are involved in philanthropic activities.

Outstanding Volunteer Fundraiser

Presented to an individual, couple, or family, this award honours commitment to the advancement of philanthropy, and exceptional skills in coordinating and motivating groups of donors and volunteers for the benefit of non-profit/charitable organizations.

Outstanding Foundation or Philanthropic Group

Presented to a private (charitable, family, community or other) foundation or special-purpose philanthropic group (i.e service club) that has demonstrated outstanding commitment through financial support and through encouragement and motivation of others to take leadership roles toward philanthropy and local, national and/or international community involvement.

Outstanding Corporation

Presented in recognition of a corporation or its corporate foundation that has demonstrated outstanding financial support (may include a portion of in-kind support), community involvement, and motivation of others to take leadership roles.

Outstanding Small Organization Award for Excellence in Fundraising

Presented to a non-profit organization with three or fewer employees in the fundraising department. The organization has developed creative, resourceful, and inspired campaigns, initiatives, projects, or techniques that have grown and increased the organizations fundraising infrastructure, program and results.

Outstanding Fundraising Professional

Presented to an outstanding individual fundraising professional who is an AFP Golden Horseshoe Chapter member and who practices his/her profession directly for a non-profit organization.

Award Guidelines:

  • Please review our 2018 Nominations Package prior to writing your nomination.
  • The nominee must be notified and in agreement with the nomination process before the application is submitted.
  • With permission, nominations will be held for two years.
  • Submit your application package (completed nomination form, narrative, and support documentation in one PDF by email) to npdafp@gmail.com
